چکیده

A regression graph to enumerate and evaluate all possible subset regression models is introduced. The graph is a generalization of a regression tree. All the spanning trees of the graph are minimum spanning trees and provide an optimal computational procedure for generating all possible submodels. Each minimum spanning tree has a different structure and characteristics. An adaptation of a branch-and-bound algorithm which computes the best-subset models using the regression graph framework is proposed. Experimental results and comparison with an existing method based on a regression tree are presented and discussed. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

On Symmetry of Some Nano Structures

It is necessary to generate the automorphism group of a chemical graph in computer-aided structure elucidation. An Euclidean graph associated with a molecule is defined by a weighted graph with adjacency matrix M = [dij], where for i≠j, dij is the Euclidean distance between the nuclei i and j. In this matrix dii can be taken as zero if all the nuclei are equivalent. Otherwise, one may introduce...

An Integer Programming Model and a Tabu Search Algorithm to Generate α-labeling of Special Classes of Quadratic Graphs

First, an integer programming model is proposed to find an α-labeling for quadratic graphs. Then, a Tabu search algorithm is developed to solve large scale problems. The proposed approach can generate α-labeling for special classes of quadratic graphs, not previously reported in the literature. Then, the main theorem of the paper is presented. We show how a problem in graph theory c...

Fault Diagnosis utilizing Structural Analysis

When designing model-based fault-diagnosis systems, the use of consistency relations (also called e.g. parity relations) is a common choice. Different subsets are sensitive to different subsets of faults, and thereby isolation can be achieved. This paper presents an algorithm for finding a small set of submodels that can be used to derive consistency relations with highest possible diagnosis ca...

Abstract: The fuzzy and neuro-fuzzy modeling approaches represent extremely powerful tool for non-linear dynamic systems approximation. By using this tool it is possible to overcome difficulties in conventional techniques for dealing with nonlinearity. This paper presents the design of the diagnostic system exploits these fuzzy modeling approximation abilities together with fault detection and ...
